GENERAL RUG CARE
Most new rugs, especially tufted ones, will shed for a period of time after you bring them home. Regular vacuuming using the suction only attachment should reduce the time.
Avoid folding your rug at all costs. If you need to move it, roll it. Wool or viscose rugs need to be rolled with the backing facing outwards to avoid damaging the pile. Allow 2 to 3 days after your rug arrives and have been layed out for it to condition and lay completely flat.
Some crushing might be visable when your rug arrives for the first time, or after rolling it up for storage or moving. Do not worry, when the rug has been laid out flat again, it should look back to its best within 2 to 3 days.
If you decide to store your rug, please keep it in a dry, temperature controlled and ventilated area to prevent noticeable fading.
Avoid pulling any loose threads. They can be simply cut if you spot them.
For loop pile floor rugs, beat them rather than vacuuming to avoid damage.
Spills can be blotted with a dry, white cloth. For anything more, it is best to call in the professionals. Do not dry clean or iron your rug. If your rug gets stained, always seek professional cleaning advice.
REDUCE RUG COLOUR FADING
All natural fibres can fade in sunlight, so if your rug is directly exposed, make sure you turn it regularly to ensure an even effect. You should also rotate it if it is unevenly covered by furniture, for the same reason.
To make sure your rug is safe on laminate and hardwood flooring, use an anti slip underlay mat underneath to keep it in place.
